Defining a Gold ResourceDefining a gold resource means gathering evidence that a gold deposit of known size and grade exists in the ground.
This is mainly done by drilling to sample the ground at depth, but also includes sampling at surface in trenches and cuts. This data is compiled in 3D modelling software (though technically hardcopy methods are also accepted by JORC) and interpreted into a solid body that defines the extent of the gold deposit in the ground. This body is then populate with grade values interpolated from the assays within the body. |
